This is a project to improve the first line of Port de Pollença with the reconditioning of the parking and the pergola area. The area affected by this project is located between Paseo Saralegui and the waterfront of Port de Pollença. This area divides its surface between an asphalted parking area for vehicles and a pedestrian area, where a set of pergolas are located under which a series of ticket booths are located.

The action consists of resurfacing the parking lot and renovation of pavements, as well as demolition of the existing ticket booths and construction of 12 new booths. The existing pergolas will be conditioned to install solar panels to power two electric vehicle charging points. The entire project involves an investment of approximately 800,000 €, with an execution period of 4 months.

In order to carry out these works it will be necessary to close the ORA regulated parking area in this area. Thus, from Monday, November 8, the parking area will be closed.

On the other hand, the pedestrian pavements in this area have conservation defects. Having carried out an improvement of the pavements of Paseo Saralegui, the poor condition of the pavements in this area is more evident, so we will proceed to the demolition of the existing pavement on sidewalks, and the placement of new pavement with antibrutícia treatment that gives continuity to the whole. At the same time, the current rainwater network will be improved, optimizing its capacity, since it is currently functioning inadequately.

The sidewalks and pavements of the promenade closest to the sea will be completely leveled to avoid any architectural barrier and give continuity to the promenade. Consequently, the entrance gates of the marinas will also be adapted to the new leveling, and the palm tree wells of the promenade will be complemented with drainage rubber.

The current ticket booths look very old, and the modules are small and do not have the necessary air conditioning to work in summer, so the 10 existing booths will be demolished and 12 new structures will be built with improved insulation and energy efficiency.

The existing pergolas will be used as much as possible, adapting them to allow the installation of approximately 80 m² of photovoltaic panels. Thanks to the planned modules, a total of 22,437 kWh will be generated throughout the year, thus avoiding CO₂ emissions of 13,457 kg per year.

Parking spaces will be rearranged with 2 new spaces enabled for electric vehicles with their respective charging points with 14.8 kW of total power.

The Port de Pollença action is part of a strategy aimed at promoting sustainable mobility at a time of climate emergency, to help transform the mobility model, reduce greenhouse gases and continue fighting climate change.
