Monitoring data on the pandemic in schools

The Ministry of Education and Vocational Training has reported that there are currently 669 teachers on sick leave in public schools in the Balearic Islands (495 in Mallorca, 33 in Menorca, 134 in Ibiza and 11 in Formentera). This figure represents 4.48% of the teaching staff in public schools (out of a total of 16,000).

On the other hand, according to data provided by the Department of Health and Consumer Affairs, the accumulated positives in the last 7 days among the population aged 3 to 16 years account for a total of 3,750 (2,792 in Mallorca, 451 in Menorca, 481 in Ibiza and 26 in Formentera). This number represents 2.88% of the student body (out of a total of 129,884).

Finally, schools have reported a total of 109 groups in quarantine, of which 80 are in schools in Mallorca, 15 in Menorca, 14 in Ibiza and 0 in Formentera.
