As of today, only negative COVID-19 antigen detection tests obtained within the 24 hours prior to arrival in Spain will be considered valid, provided that they are tests included in the common list of rapid antigen detection tests for COVID-19, published by the European Commission on the basis of Council Recommendation 2021/C 24/01.

Certificates of a diagnostic test for active COVID-19 infection with negative result belonging to molecular nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT), the sample of which has been obtained within 72 hours prior to arrival in Spain, shall continue to be considered as valid.
The Official State Gazette (BOE) publishes the modification of the Resolution of 4 June 2021 of the Directorate General of Public Health, which adapts the validity of negatives obtained through antigen tests as a requirement for entry into Spain to the new European regulations.
In this way, only negative results of antigen tests for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 infection, whose sample has been obtained in the 24 hours prior to arrival in Spain and not 48 hours, as at present, will be considered valid.
As indicated in the aforementioned Council Recommendation (EU) 2022/107 of 25 January 2022, the wide availability of the rapid antigen tests included in the common list agreed by the Health Security Committee justifies establishing this validity period of no more than 24 hours for these tests.
On the other hand, and as has been the case to date, certificates of a diagnostic test for active COVID-19 infection with negative result belonging to molecular nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT), whose sample has been obtained within 72 hours prior to arrival in Spain, will continue to be considered as valid.
In any case, the diagnostic test certificate must include at least the name and surname of the holder, date of sample collection, type of test performed and issuing country.
