The Service of Legal Assistance in the municipalities of the Consell de Mallorca offers from this February access to a legal database to the town councils of the island of fewer than 6.000 inhabitants. This will mean that these town councils will have a free legal consultation service.

It is a comprehensive platform of legislation, jurisprudence, doctrinal commentaries, forms and legal consultancy service that the Consell de Mallorca intends to be of help and utility in the day-to-day work of the municipal staff. The contracting of this service has been carried out within the framework of the work of legal advice of the Insular Direction of Support and Municipal Coordination.

This platform contains the necessary information for the exercise of the tasks and functions of town council staff, who often have doubts and needs that have already been resolved by other town councils in Spain. It is, therefore, a very useful tool, which can speed up the resolution of different legal issues.

In addition, thanks to this service offered by the Consell, local councils will not have to pay for consultations themselves.

Reinforcement of municipal services

The Insular Directorate of Municipal Support and Coordination, which provides technical, computer, legal and economic assistance to the town councils of Mallorca, is reinforcing the different areas to improve its services. Thus, for example, for 2022, technical cooperation has been prioritised, which involves significant assistance in the drafting of projects and the technical management of municipal works.
