The extraordinary plenary session of the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System (CISNS) this morning approved raising the capacity limits for sports competitions of the National Professional Football League and the Basketball Clubs Association League (ACB), as well as other large sporting events.

Thus, the maximum capacity of up to 75% is increased to 85% for events in open venues and the maximum capacity of up to 50% for events in closed venues is increased to 75%, respecting the non-pharmacological measures of protection against COVID-19.

In addition, the CISNS plenary approved the modulation of the use of masks in outdoor areas. Minister Darias will take the Royal Decree to the Council of Ministers tomorrow by which masks in outdoor areas will cease to be compulsory, something that will come into effect next Thursday following the publication of the measure in the Official State Gazette. In addition, the CISNS has approved recommending the use of the same when crowds occur.
