Jaume Pueyo made a great debut in his first Olympic Winter Games. The Catalan skier finished 37th in the qualifying round of the sprint freestyle cross-country skiing and was only 1.32 seconds away from being one of the first thirty skiers to qualify for the final.
The Spaniard, who stopped the clock in 2:55:76, started with the bib number 52 and thanks to the great performance he climbed up to 15 positions to finish his first Olympic competition with a great 37th place.
Despite not achieving his goal of making the final, Jaume Pueyo rates his performance with a “B”. “All the effort I have put in, all the desire and all the support I have received, I am very grateful for it. I have given everything on the track. I’m 20 years old, I’m going to keep working because there’s still a long way to go”, said the young skier after finishing the race.
