Last week, Inca Town Hall inaugurated the exhibition “L’altra pell” by the Mallorcan artist Ferran Pizà. The exhibition, installed in Sa Quartera Centra d’Art, is a recognition of all those anonymous and enterprising people who, from the artisan workshop and industrial factories, make and will make the shoe guild a pride and a point of reference for all Inca’s people.

“We welcome this exhibition of Ferran Pizà with great enthusiasm, in such an iconic space of Inca as it is Sa Quartera Center d’Art. To speak of this artist is to speak of a long history and a constant evolution, and proof of this is this set of pieces, created to pay tribute to the history of Inca and especially to its recent past in the footwear industry. ” explains the Councillor for Culture, Alice Weber.
Therefore, the painter from Sa Pobla, aims to surprise with this latest collection of canvases and enter the viewer into a suggestive world of the beauty of the history of footwear. Moreover, with his pieces, Pizà invites us to contemplate, with a deep gaze, feeling the breath that evokes the soul of the shoe.
In this sense, Weber points out that “from his complex imaginary of shapes and volumes, Ferran invites us, as if it were a game, to delve into a cosmos of identity where the matte painting propitiates a dialogue full of irony and fun with the public”.
Ferran Pizà, born in Sa Pobla in 1955, has a long history in the world of painting and art and has participated in numerous exhibitions, both in the Balearic Islands and internationally. “L’altra pell” will remain open until 28th May and can be visited on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 to 8: 30 p.m.; Tuesdays and Fridays from 3 to 8: 30 p.m. Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 8: 30 p.m . and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
