This represents an increase of €60,000 compared to last year’s call for applications.
The Department of Social Affairs and Sports, through the Directorate General of Sports, has published a new call for grants to promote inclusive sports and women’s sports for a total amount of 260,000 euros, 60,000 euros more than in the previous call. The councillor Fina Santiago assures that ”this call reflects the commitment of this Government to promote women’s sport and sport as a tool for social inclusion”.
A total of 90,000 euros (60,000 euros the previous year) will be allocated for projects aimed at social integration or reintegration and adapted sports projects, 30,000 euros for technical sports training for women (20,000 euros the previous year) and 140,000 euros (120,000 euros the previous year) for national category teams.

The aim of the call for applications is threefold. On the one hand, the aim is to grant aid to projects aimed at the integration or social reintegration of people through the continuous practice of sport, to projects of adapted sport, organised by non-profit associations. On the other hand, the aim is to subsidise technical sports training for women born or resident in the Balearic Islands. And finally, the third objective is to subsidise sports clubs in the Balearic Islands with women’s and mixed teams in individual and group sports that participate in national competitions and promote the Balearic Islands during the 2021/2022 sports season.
The Conselleria stresses that the line of aid for women’s and mixed teams is in addition to those already in existence for sports clubs. It is, therefore, an extraordinary contribution that aims to promote, make visible and normalize women’s sport, challenges marked in the line of promoting equality in a sport that wants to be promoted from the Government.
The standard application form and the different annexes required to apply for the subsidy can be obtained online, on the website of the Directorate-General for Sport (http://esports.caib.es), or at the offices of the Department of Social Affairs and Sport.
