\ The third extension of the contract for the supply of exclusive medicines from the laboratory Allergan has also been authorized.

The Consell de Govern has authorized the general director of the Health Service of the Balearic Islands to contract the supply of medicines for 3,379,277 euros.

On the one hand, it has been authorized to contract the supply of the recombinant coagulation factor VIII drug ADYNOVI for an estimated maximum value of 827,617 euros. This coagulation drug, produced by recombinant DNA technology, is necessary to coagulate blood and stop bleeding in patients of all age groups who suffer from haemophilia A.

On the other hand, it has also granted the prior authorization to exercise the competence in matters of authorization and disposition of the expenditure of the file of the third extension of the contract for the supply of exclusive medicines of the laboratory Allergan, SA, for an amount of 2,551,660 euros. The period of execution of the extension would be from April 2022 to December 31, 2023.

It is necessary to provide the Health Service’s healthcare centres with these drugs in order to guarantee the correct functioning of the healthcare activity.
