The Generalitat Valenciana, the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Govern de les Illes Balears have declared 2022 as Joan Fuster Year, in commemoration of the centenary of the birth of this intellectual, writer and cultural activist. His work, including Nosaltres els valencians, had a great impact and contributed to the enrichment of Catalan culture. Also noteworthy is his cultural and political activism, which made him a civic reference in the movement for the normalisation of the Catalan language.
