Approval of the agreement with the State to implement the plan for access to housing 2022-2025, which allocates 34.6 million to the Balearic Islands

The Consell de Govern has approved the text and authorised the signing of the collaboration agreement between the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda and the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, for the implementation of the State Plan for Access to Housing 2022-2025, approved by Royal Decree 42/2022, of 18 January, and published in the BOE no. 16, of 19 January 2022.

With this action, a total contribution of €45,021,600 in housing policies is guaranteed over the next four years, of which €34,632,000 corresponds to the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda, and €10,389,600 to the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands.

Specifically, the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda undertake to contribute, as a result of the commitment made by the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands under the terms provided for in Article 22.2 of Royal Decree 42/2022, of 18 January, as a maximum and by annual instalments, to finance the PEAV subsidies in the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, the following amounts:

  • Year 2022: 8,280,000 €.
  • Year 2023: 8,616,000 €.
  • Year 2024: 8.832.000 €.
  • Year 2025: 8.904.000 €.
    Total: 34.632.000 €.

The Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands undertakes to co-finance actions of the PEAV, under the terms provided for in Article 22(2)(c) of Royal Decree 42/2022 of 18 January.

This co-financing, broken down by programmes and annuities in clause five, has the following maximum limit per annuity:

  • Year 2022: 2,484,000 €.
  • Year 2023: 2,584,800 €.
  • Year 2024: 2,649,600 €.
  • Year 2025: 2.671.200 €.
    Total: 10.389.600 €.

The main objectives of the State Plan for Access to Housing are as follows:

  1. To facilitate access to housing for citizens with fewer resources.
  2. Facilitate access to housing or a residential alternative as soon as possible for victims of gender-based violence and other cases of vulnerability.
  3. Facilitate access to housing for young people.
  4. Promote access to rented housing by helping landlords to pay for payment protection insurance.
  5. Increase the supply of social rental housing by promoting the public housing stock and establishing aid for acquiring housing by public administrations.
  6. Make SAREB housing available for social renting.
