The Govern launches a 2.5 million euro grant for public freight transport to cope with the increase in energy prices

The Regional Ministry of Mobility and Housing, through the Directorate General of Mobility and Land Transport, is launching a new call for applications for 2022 for legal entities of public transport of goods residing in the Balearic Islands to address the economic and social consequences of the increase in the price of energy. This call is published today in the BOIB and the deadline for submitting applications is fifteen working days from tomorrow.

The beneficiaries of this aid may be legal entities residing in the Balearic Islands, who are holders of authorisation for the public transport of goods, MDP or MDL, and who have increased their fuel costs by at least 5% in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the first quarter of 2021.

The budget of this call will be distributed according to the tonnage and with the following maximums and minimums:

  • Up to 3.5 tonnes MMA: between €800 and €1,000 per vehicle.
  • Over 3.5 and up to 7.5 tonnes MMA: between €1,000 and €1,200 per vehicle
  • Over 7.5 and up to 12 tonnes MMA: between €1,400 and €1,600 per vehicle
  • Over 12 tonnes MMA: between 1,800 and 2,000 euros per vehicle.

The application must be submitted using the form available at the Electronic Headquarters of the Government of the Balearic Islands (seuelectronica.caib.es) and on the website of the Directorate-General for Mobility and Land Transport (www.transports.caib.es).
