The councillor for Social Affairs and Sports, Fina Santiago, today attended Mallorca Palma Futsal’s training session at the Palacio de Deportes de Son Moix. Accompanied by the general director of Sports, Carles Gonyalons, and the club’s general director, José Antonio Tirado, she took advantage of the visit to talk to the players and the club’s board of directors and inform them of a new line of subsidies from the Department of Social Affairs and Sports aimed at sports clubs that play in international competitions, in addition to those already in existence.

Mallorca Palma Futsal will begin its first international journey on 26 October against Sporting Paris. The team receives from the Conselleria de Asuntos Sociales y Deportes, through the Dirección General de Deportes, a total of 192,000 euros in sponsorship and aid during the year 2022. For sponsorship, it has received 80,000 euros for its participation in regular leagues in the highest non-professional state category and 112,114 euros in aid for teams competing at the state level. In addition, when it is launched, the club will be able to access the new line of subsidies aimed at sports clubs that play in international competitions. In this case, two clubs will be eligible for this aid: Mallorca Palma Futsal and Avarca Menorca.

In this way, the Department of Social Affairs and Sport aims to continue increasing its support for these clubs, which are achieving historic milestones for sport in the Balearic Islands.
