. The plenary hall of the City Council of Inca has hosted a new session of the Local Security Board, in order to coordinate the special device to be carried out on the occasion of the Fairs of Inca and Dijous Bo 2022. The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno, the Government Delegate, Aina Calvo, the Councillor for Public Safety, Sebastián Oriol, the Councillor for Fairs, Antoni Peña, along with representatives of the various security forces and other members of the Consistory.

Security for Fairs and Dijous Bo

During the meeting, the special arrangements for the Fairs and Dijous Bo were defined in order to ensure maximum coordination between the different security forces. In this regard, Mayor Moreno pointed out that “as every year, we will have the necessary personnel so that during these weeks of maximum affluence in our city, public safety issues will be well covered”.

In this regard, it should be noted that during the three fairs and on Wednesday and Dijous Bo will be implemented a special traffic device and new parking areas will be enabled in the vicinity of the different neuralgic points of the city. Parking will also be allowed on the Jaume I ring road during these dates.

On the other hand, during the meeting the Guardia Civil and Local Police made a brief balance of the figures of complaints and actions carried out during 2022 and, once again, it has been shown that Inca remains one of the most stable and safe cities in Mallorca. In fact, the Guardia Civil stated that the crime rate had fallen by 12% in the capital of Raiguer this year.

On the other hand, as far as the data from the Local Police Inca are concerned, they show an increase in actions and control tasks carried out during the last few months, in which the surveillance and prevention devices have been considerably increased, with greater presence, for example, in the squares at weekends or campaigns to fight against dung tourism.

“According to the statistics of the Local Police and the Guardia Civil, we can assure you that Inca is a safe city and this is mainly due to the good coordination that exists between the different security forces operating in the municipality. In addition, in recent years we have also made a major effort to increase the resources of the Local Police and consolidate the workforce to be able to carry out more actions and increase the tasks of control and surveillance,” explains Moreno.
