The Department of Culture, Heritage and Linguistic Policy has provided 100,000 euros through a nominative grant to finance the third and final phase of restoration of this organ, built in the 17th century. The work to restore this great instrument began in 2016, promoted by the Commission for the Conservation and Restoration of the newly created organ of Manacor.
The intervention completes and improves the two previous restorations, one from the end of the 19th century and the other from the end of the 20th century. Work that did not allow the organ’s sound to be fully restored. Now, thanks to the work carried out by the restorers Wilfried Praet and Maria del Mar Riera, it can be considered a total restoration. In addition, other elements have been added that the organ did not have, such as the pedaler or the registration of the chanter of a chanter.
