The Governing Council has authorised the transfer to the IBAVI of 11,650,000 euros from the funds for actions and projects charged to the insularity factor for 2022 to build public housing.

On 20 June 2022, the IBAVI submitted an application for the aid for actions and projects charged to the insularity factor for the year 2022 to carry out three public housing developments. These are the 60 homes to be built in Isidor Macabich, in Eivissa; the 35 homes in Es Castell, in Menorca; and the 17 in San Francisco, in Formentera. All of them are developments that IBAVI is expected to start building in 2023.

These insularity funds will therefore co-finance these three IBAVI developments in Ibiza, Menorca and Formentera, through which 112 subsidised housing units will be added to the Balearic Islands’ public rental housing stock.
