The activity carried out by users of the Son Espases Psychiatric Area consists of a workshop in which the participants learned about the fauna and flora around the Hospital and then collected samples to create a memory game. The aim is to deepen the knowledge of the biodiversity of the environment and introduce concepts such as the network or food chain.
Sansó thanked the work initiated by Palma XXI, “an essential tool for social transformation that not only promotes knowledge of the environment but also strengthens collaboration networks with neighbourhood organisations and the team from the Psychiatry Department”.
This year, the project aims to improve knowledge about water management and related heritage elements; about cultural heritage, agroecology and the recovery of biodiversity. It also emphasises responsible consumption and environmental participation and volunteering. This edition has the collaboration of the Balearic Society for Environmental Education (SBEA), and GOB Mallorca.
Since 2020, Palma XXI has been carrying out support and dissemination activities around the Palma Agricultural Park through the ABC de s’Horta de Dalt, which should serve to bring citizens closer to the rural area of Palma and highlight the importance of the agricultural park in environmental terms and as a boost for agricultural activity.
