A booster dose is also recommended for children aged 5-11 years with risk factors.

The Health Service is opening up vaccination during the Christmas holiday period to children aged 6-59 months with high-risk factors, children aged 5-11 years with risk factors and all people over the age of 12 who are due for a first or booster dose of COVID-19. The three population groups cited for vaccination are:

(a) Population aged 6-59 months (five years) with high-risk factors:

This population had not been called until now to receive the vaccine dose. These are children with high-risk factors (cancer, transplants, immunosuppression, renal insufficiency, etc.). They should not request an appointment through Infovacuna, but will be notified by the paediatric services of the hospitals to make an appointment in the coming weeks.

b) Population aged 5 to 11 years with risk factors:

These are children with risk factors (diabetes, cystic fibrosis, immunosuppression, etc.). They can be vaccinated with the first dose or with the booster dose, the latter in case they have received the first vaccination. Appointments should not be made through Infovacuna, but they will be notified by the health services to make an appointment in the coming weeks.

c) People over twelve years of age:

All people who wish to be vaccinated can do so without an appointment at the vaccination centres. It is recommended that all people with risk factors get vaccinated (either the first vaccination or the booster dose). It is also important to remember that all persons who have passed COVID-19 must wait five months after infection to receive a booster dose.

People who need to be vaccinated can do so without an appointment from tomorrow (except on 24, 25, 26 and 31 December and 1, 5 and 6 January) at the following points:

  • In Mallorca, at any of the four vaccination points open: Espacio Francesc Quetglas, in Palma; former General Luque barracks, in Inca; and COVID Exprés in Manacor, between 8.30 am and 7.30 pm. It is important to note that the Son Dureta vaccination point will only remain open until 30 December due to the start of work on the new hospital. After this date, the Francesc Quetglas Space will remain as the only walk-in vaccination point in Palma.
  • In Menorca, at the health centres, on Fridays from 12 noon to 1 pm.
  • In Ibiza: at its vaccination point in building J of the Hospital Can Misas (Monday to Friday, from 8 to 15 h), CS Sant Antoni (Monday to Thursday, from 15.30 to 20 h) and CS Santa Eulària des Riu (Monday to Friday, from 12 to 14 h).
  • In Formentera: at the Hospital de Formentera (Fridays, from 15.15 to 17.00 h).
