The Department of Social Affairs and Sports and the Island Council of Menorca are continuing their collaboration for another year to facilitate the integration of immigrants, after the Governing Council authorised a new collaboration agreement that will cover expenses incurred from 1 January to 31 December 2022 for this purpose. The total cost of the actions is 112,000 €, which is borne 50% by each institution (56,000 each).

The programmes and actions for the reception and integration of immigrants have been developed mainly through the management of the network of information, advice and guidance points and offices for immigrants.

This collaboration has been formalised since 2007. It should be remembered that the Government is responsible for the social and economic integration of immigrants, while the island councils are in charge of community development and care for people and groups in situations of poverty or social need.
