40th anniversary of the Statute

\ The deadline for entries is Tuesday 31 January and the three prizes for the competition are worth 6,000 euros.

The Government of the Balearic Islands is promoting the design of a commemorative poster for the 40th anniversary of the Statute of Autonomy of the Balearic Islands in 2023. The Department of Social Affairs and Sports, through the cultural programme Art Jove of the Balearic Youth Institute (IBJOVE), has organised an unprecedented competition to encourage the participation and involvement of young people in this historic milestone for the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands in the recovery of its self-government.

The poster design, original and unpublished, must represent the spirit of democracy and the demand for self-government that inspired the achievement and approval of the Statute of Autonomy of the Balearic Islands, which was officially published on 1 March 1983.

The contest is open to young people born or resident in the Balearic Islands and aged between 16 and 35 at the end of 2023. Groups are not allowed to register.

The competition has a total prize of 6,000 euros, which will be divided into a first prize of 3,000 euros, a second prize of 2,000 euros, and a third prize of 1,000 euros.

The deadline for registration and submission of documentation is Tuesday 31 January 2023. The rules, the application form and the rest of the documents of the call for entries are available on the IBJOVE website: http://ibjove.caib.es.

The jury’s decision will be made public on 1 March 2023, as part of the celebrations for the Day of the Balearic Islands, and an exhibition of the posters presented will be organised.
