Local police Inca

The figures of the Local Police Inca are positive during 2022 in terms of the different services they provide in the city. This is after the report drawn up by the agents and activity data collected during the year. “The reactive actions, which come from complaints from citizens, have remained stable, on the contrary, we have increased by more than 63 per cent the number of controls that helps preventive work,” summarized police chief Carlos Caballero during the presentation, where he was accompanied by the Mayor, Vigilio Moreno, the councilman of Police, Sebastià Oriol and several commanders of the police force.

Within this preventive work, one of the most notable figures is the increase of more than 50 per cent in the number of complaints processed for drug use or possession. There has also been a 38 per cent increase in the number of complaints filed for infringement of municipal ordinances, i.e. charges of incivility. “We are very pleased with the work of the Inca Local Police and the figures support the important work of prevention and service to the public,” said Oriol. On the other hand, there has been a significant decrease in the number of complaints about improper parking.

Prevention Unit

The Local Police Inca has recovered its prevention unit. It is a group of five officers who operate in the evening and at night to control public squares and public spaces. “Soon we will begin to have data, but from the first few days we can confirm that we will have very good news about the results,” explained Caballero. This unit has been recovered thanks to an increase in the number of posts in the local police force. “From the first day it has been an objective to stabilise the quarry, provide it with the necessary material and commit to a body of proximity,” commented Moreno.

In 2022, the drone surveillance service was launched. It has been used for many different purposes, such as traffic control or large concentrations of people. On the other hand, the drone is also available to all municipal areas, as it can also be useful for checking and ensuring compliance with ordinances.
