The accession process for suppliers

The programme, endowed with 110 million euros, is part of investment 4 of component 6 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) and aims to increase the efficiency of road transport companies through digitisation and the introduction of new technologies.

The aid is granted in simple concurrence through the autonomous communities and cities, to which the European NextGenerationEU funds have been transferred, as stipulated in Royal Decree 902/2022 of 25 October. This Royal Decree also contains the regulatory bases for the calls for proposals to which the autonomous communities and cities must adhere in order to grant subsidies.

Service provider
In order to facilitate the management of the subsidies, the search for services in accordance with the needs of the beneficiary companies and the implementation of the modernisation solutions subsidised, the figure of Modernisation Solution Providers has been created.

Thus, companies in the technological and digital field that are suppliers of any of the modernisation solutions included in the Royal Decree, and that meet the conditions set out in the Notice to become a Modernisation Solutions Provider, may apply to Mitma to join the aid programme, through the procedure published on the Ministry’s website.

Companies wishing to join the programme may do so at any time up to the date of the application through Mitma’s electronic site. However, the Autonomous Regions that wish to do so may publish complementary notices of membership to that of the Ministry.

In order to join the programme, among other requirements, technology companies must have their tax domicile and the centre where the solutions are provided in the European Union and an accumulated turnover of at least 100,000 euros in the previous two years or 50,000 euros in the previous year in similar projects (70,000 or 35,000 euros turnover, respectively, for self-employed workers without employees).

The companies participating in the programme will be the only ones that will be able to provide the modernisation solutions subsidised to the SMEs and self-employed beneficiaries of the aid. Mitma will set up a register of Modernisation Solution Providers on its website, which will include all the companies that have joined the programme. To make the search faster and more convenient, it will be possible to filter by category, by type of transport services provided (goods, collective passenger transport, shippers…), by autonomous communities where they provide services and by the region where the supplier’s tax headquarters are located.
