2022 has been the year that more people have visited the building of the Palau del Consell de Mallorca. From January to December 4,578, people have been able to visit this neo-Gothic-style building that was formerly the headquarters of the Provincial Council.

The Councillor of the Presidency, Javier de Juan, highlighted the good coordination work of the Consell de Mallorca guide, Sara Gómez, who has accompanied school groups, cultural associations, associations for the elderly, groups of people visiting Palma to attend congresses, as well as groups of private individuals. “We are very satisfied with the attendance figures. Opening the doors of Palau and allowing people to enjoy this emblematic building is a duty of the institution. As well as conveying to visitors the significance of both past and present history,” he said.

Most of the visitors have been school groups, specifically 2,952 students from different educational centres have participated in the visits. On the other hand, a total of 1,626 adults were also able to visit the Consell de Mallorca Palace, and a total of 141 visits were made.

It is worth highlighting the success of the visits to the refuge of Palau, which began on the occasion of the Diada de Mallorca 2021, and given the good response, 7 new activities have been programmed for 2022, with lectures given by the expert Bartomeu Fiol.

The dramatised routes organised by the Ovnipresents theatre company, which began in January 2020, have also been very well received. During the last year, 10 of these visits were carried out in a humorous way that explains the history of the Consell building, making a parody of the series ‘La casa de paper (The Paper House).

In the years that there have been restrictions due to the pandemic, when the epidemiological situation allowed it, with the necessary security measures, 819 people visited the Palace of the Consell in 2021; in 2020, 1,068 attendees. And before the pandemic in 2019, there were 2,063 visitors.
