Education in the Balearic Islands

The Minister of Education and Vocational Training, Martí March, yesterday chaired the meeting of the Governing Council of the Centre for Training, Innovation and Research for the Exercise of School Management in the Balearic Islands (CFIRDE-Ib), where, among other issues, the celebration in Palma of the First State Congress of Management Function on 24 and 25 March was discussed.

The meeting also dealt with issues such as the training itinerary for head teachers in order to contribute to their professionalisation and the characteristics of specific training for heads of studies. Likewise, the content of the 1st State Congress on the management function was also presented, which will have as its main theme “the professionalisation of management” and will be attended by the Portuguese Minister of Education, Joao Miguel Marqués Costa.

Action plan for the academic year 2022-2023

The Governing Board found the CFIRDE’s proposal to be appropriate, i.e. that the training programme on the development of the management function required to obtain accreditation to present a management project should have two modules: a preliminary module for training in pedagogical leadership and an initial module on management and strategic planning, which will include the preparation of the management project.

The aim of the training for primary and secondary school heads of studies is to facilitate the exercise of their function from the perspective of an organisation at the service of learning.

The Centre for Training, Innovation and Research for School Management in the Balearic Islands (CFIRDE) is a pioneering centre in Spain. Its main objectives are to promote and organise training, innovation and research in the field of school management, and to provide continuous updating in matters related to school management.
