The Government of the Balearic Islands, through the Directorate General of Culture, will open the exhibition “Baleàrics cinc anys” tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the Kingdom Archive. The Department of European Funds, University and Culture is organising, with the collaboration of the Baleària Foundation, this tribute to the collective exhibitions that, since 2018, have brought together more than eighty Mediterranean artists during the five editions of the artistic proposal: “Baleàrics”, “Baleàrics músics”, “Els ODS dels Baleàrics”, “La mar dels Baleàrics” i “Baleàrics drets humans”.
For this occasion, the artists have created a small-format work, which forms an eclectic and diverse set of different artistic styles and techniques, with a total of forty-eight pieces.

The President of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Francina Armengol, will inaugurate the exhibition, which can be seen in Porreres from April onwards. The Councillor for European Funds, University and Culture, Miquel Company, and the Director General of Culture, Catalina Solivellas, will also attend.

The exhibition features artists from all over the islands. Thus, from Mallorca, oan Costa, Mariano Mayol, Miquel Planas, Pep Coll, Tomeu Coll, Pilar Cerdà, Menéndez Rojas, Doralice Souza, Luis Maraver, Beatriz Polo, Gabriela Segui, Esther Olondriz, Ramon Company, Joan Pascual, Jorge Cabral, Pep Guerrero, Núria Bosch, Dolors Comas, Antonio de la Mata, Damià Ramis, Ana Uceda, Antoni Ferragut, Rif Sphani and Natatxa Lebedeva are taking part. From Menorca, Paca Florit, Zulema Bagur, Florit Nin, Anna Carreras, Pacífic Camps and Pau Garriga. The Pitiüses are represented by Carles Guasch, Diana Bustamante, Bonet Vallribera, Miguel Ángel García, Ángel Zabala, Antoni Marí Tirurit, Maria Catalán and Pedro María Asensio from Ibiza and Formentera; and Mar Ample and Àlvaro Mendoza from Formentera.

Among the guests from the Valencian and Andalusian communities, we find Pérez Carrio, Juan Caravaca, Hans Dieter Zingraf, Dori Fernández, Pepa Espasa, Carmen Lloret, Emilio Pérez Gallego, Francisca Revert and José Vidal Porres.

In addition, tomorrow, exceptionally, forty boxes made by the artists, with an original drawing, will be on display for sale for a donation of one hundred euros to Projecte Home or the Vicente Ferrer Foundation.

The “Baleàrics” programme has been made possible thanks to the work of the Government of the Balearic Islands, Baleària – through the “Llotges de la cultura” programme – and the collaboration of several town councils in the Valencian Community and the Balearic Islands. All of these organisations have provided a meeting place for Mediterranean artists.

The Regional Ministry assumes the costs of the exhibition catalogue, the insurance of the works and the expenses derived from the coordination, the curatorship and the assembly and disassembly of the exhibitions. Baleària is covering the costs of the boat transfer and accommodation and is making its spaces and infrastructures available.
