The implementation of this technology allows absolute traceability of the materials that guarantee the safety of the patient and the healthcare professional, as the material needed for the intervention or procedure to be performed is available at all times.

The RFID technology label provides the reference number, EAN code, batch, expiry date and unique serial code of each medical device, guaranteeing product traceability. This information, which is automatically synchronised on the network, makes it possible to consult, through software, the consumption and cost, offers precise and transparent monitoring of stock and favours the efficient management of purchases and automatic replenishment.

This system saves time and processes while reducing the carbon footprint because, being a local manufacturing and logistics solution, the impact of greenhouse gases related to these activities is minimised.

In this way, the Hospital Universitario Son Espases, following the initiative of other national and international hospitals, incorporates technological innovation for greater efficiency in operational processes.
