An environmental information point in the turtle nest at Can Pere Antoni

The service will be offered between the 1st of July and the 15th of August, and its functions include providing information to visitors about the Can Pere Antoni nest and its development, as well as about sea turtles and the environmental risks faced by the species.

The Balearic Islands Wildlife Recovery Consortium (COFIB) will provide the educational material for the educators as well as the necessary infrastructure for the development of the activity.

On the 8th of June, a sea turtle laid 106 eggs on the beach of Can Pere Antoni, in Palma. This is the first clutch ever recorded in Mallorca of this species, which is classified as Vulnerable, and which, since 2019, has laid on five more occasions on the beaches of Eivissa and Menorca. On previous occasions, the Conselleria, in collaboration with other entities, also installed environmental information points at the nests, which were very well received.
