The Department of Mobility and Housing has extended the deadline for applying for public aid for the refurbishment of buildings and homes. Thus, interested parties will have until 31 December 2023 to submit the corresponding applications, and not until 1 September as was previously stipulated.

Apply for aid for the energy rehabilitation

This decision involves the modification of Order 24/2022 of the Programme for Rehabilitation and the Drafting of Rehabilitation Projects, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, regulated in Royal Decree 853/2021, of 5 October.

The measure has been taken after verifying that a lower number of applications than initially expected have been submitted and, therefore, and in accordance with the budgeted credit to carry out this call, it is considered appropriate to extend the deadline for submitting applications in order to provide the various interested parties the possibility of benefiting from this financial support.

It should be recalled that the amount foreseen for this call for aid is 29,500,000.00€ and that the beneficiaries can be the owners or co-owners of residential buildings. These can be natural persons of legal age who are resident in the Balearic Islands and have Spanish nationality. In the case of foreigners, they must have legal residence in Spain.

Legal entities of a private nature can also apply for aid if they can accredit in the application that they are duly constituted, according to the applicable regulations; communities of owners of residential buildings or groups of communities of owners, constituted in accordance with the provisions of article 5 of Law 49/1960, of 21 July, on horizontal property; the owners who, in grouped form, are owners of residential buildings that meet the requirements established by Article 396 of the Civil Code, but have not granted the constitutive title in horizontal property regime and, finally, the consortia and the associative entities to manage housing, which prove their status through a contract in force with the ownership of the residential building for a sufficient period, by which they are granted the express power to carry out the eligible works in accordance with this call for proposals.

The grants in this call come from the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, specifically from the programme “Implementation of the Spanish Urban Agenda: Urban Rehabilitation and Regeneration Plan”, funded at the same time by the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism regulated by Regulation (EU) 2021/241 of the Parliament and of the Council of 12 February 2021.
