Ciutadella hosts the first of the 12 races programmed for the 24th edition of the Summer Running League

Summer Races for everyone

Sunday the 2nd of July marks the start of the 24th edition of the Summer Running League in Menorca with a total of 12 races that will run through all the municipalities of our island in an initiative of the Department of Sports of the Consell Insular de Menorca and which is organised together with the Menorca Delegation of the FAIB (Federación de Atletismo de las Islas Baleares) and all the island’s town councils.

Ciutadella will be the first of the races and children, youngsters and adults will be able to enjoy sport and physical activity whether they are habitual practitioners of athletics or not, as this edition maintains the totally popular character of the first race in each municipality, the so-called ‘Una Cursa para Tothom’ (A Race for Everyone).

The municipalities of Ciutadella, Fornells and Sant Lluís will also maintain the Nordic walking modality, which was so well received last year in these same municipalities.

To participate in any of the modalities that make up the Summer Running League in Menorca it is necessary to register preferably online through the website www.elitechip.com, although it will be possible to sign up at the finish line of each race. The bibs will be handed out 30 minutes before the start of the races when you will receive a bib number, which will be the same for all twelve scheduled races. This number will be personal and non-transferable and will identify each athlete in each of the races in which they take part.

People who want to take part in any of the popular races will also have to register in order to guarantee insurance in case of sports accidents. Below we share with you the dates of the 12 races this summer.
