Resolution for the recovery of numerical grades in the 2023-2024 academic year is reported

\ It will be taken for its debate and approval to the sectorial tables of Public Education and Concerted Education.

The Councilor of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, has given an account today in the Consell de Govern of the draft resolution on the evaluation, promotion and qualification for the recovery of numerical grades for the 2023-2024 academic year, with the aim of simplifying the bureaucratic burden to which teachers are subjected and to facilitate families the academic monitoring of their children.

The draft resolution provides for a modification of the evaluation system in force in the last educational course in the Balearic Islands, establishing for the next school year the return of three evaluation reports throughout the academic year, which will be made by numerical grades from 0 to 10, and a final grade in which the current qualitative grade will be complemented with a numerical grade, which will be maintained to comply with the legal framework imposed by the Organic Law 3/2020, of modification of the Organic Law on Education (LOMLOE).

The objective of this modification is to simplify the bureaucratic work that the current evaluation system imposes on teachers and to value their pedagogical criteria when evaluating, as well as to make it easier for families to understand the academic results of their children in order to monitor their evolution.

According to the Regional Minister of Education and Universities, the educational unions have already been informed of the draft resolution, and have been unanimously receptive to the modification of the current evaluation system. The text will be taken the first week of September to the sectorial tables of Public Education and Concerted Education, so that employers and unions can make the contributions they deem appropriate for its improvement, with a view to the final approval and communication to the educational centers.

The commitment of the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities is that, unlike the last courses in which until October or November the centers did not yet have the evaluation resolution, all centers will already have the evaluation criteria from the first day of the next academic year 2023-2024.
