The Councillor of the Presidency and Public Administrations, Antònia Estarellas, attended the ceremony in which Commander María Cruz Acero Ruiz took over command of the 7th Aerial Surveillance Squadron and Puig Major Air Barracks. Commander Gerardo López was her predecessor in the post.

The ceremony was also attended by Major General José Luis Ortiz-Cañavate Levenfeld, none of the Air Surveillance and Control System. Among the authorities present were the insular director of Emergencies, Joan Fornàs, and numerous mayors, such as the mayor of Escorca, Toni Solivellas, the mayor of Fornalutx, Francesc Marroig, and the mayor of Sóller, Miquel Nadal.
