The selection of the director of the Institute of Cultural Industries (ICIB) have been published

Today has been published in the Official Gazette of the Balearic Islands (BOIB) the resolution of the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports, Jaume Bauzà, who holds the position of president of the Institute of Cultural Industries of the Balearic Islands (ICIB), which approves the public call and the rules for the selection of the managing director of the Institute of Cultural Industries of the Balearic Islands.

The functions of the managing director are to legally represent the ICIB before public administrations, institutions and public and private entities, to execute and enforce the agreements and directives of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, as well as to direct, coordinate and supervise all the services of the ICIB, among others.

The requirements established in the bases are to have a university degree, have professional experience in the public or private sector in the field of cultural and business management and have the C1 level certificate of Catalan. Academic training in legal, economic or business management, personnel management, advertising or marketing, cultural management, audiovisual, performing, visual, publishing, musical or media arts, and knowledge of foreign languages, among other merits, will also be valued.

Management plan

Applicants must submit a summary of the ICIB management plan they wish to promote over the next five years, which must contain the structure and essential services in the ICIB’s sectorial areas of action; the establishment of lines of collaboration with other entities of a similar nature; strategic and sectorial plans; labour rights; and manuals of good practices in the field of culture, as well as short-term planning on the actions necessary to promote consumption habits and the introduction and generation of new audiences interested in cultural productions in the Balearic Islands.

The ICIB is a public business entity created by the government in 2018 to promote the development of cultural and creative industries and companies within the framework of the autonomous community of the Balearic Islands.
