Lloseta oil recycling plant was declared a Strategic Industrial Project

The Consell de Govern, at the proposal of the Conselleria de Empresa, Empleo y Energía, has declared as a strategic industrial project of the Balearic Islands the investment proposal “Proyecto de transformación de aceites de motores usados”, located in the municipality of Lloseta, processed through the Dirección General de Industria y Polígonos Industriales (General Directorate of Industry and Industrial Estates).

This project plans to add a photovoltaic plant with a capacity of 350 kWp for self-consumption with injection into the grid of the surplus to the existing used oil purification plant. It is also planned to set up a hydrogen generation plant to provide clean energy to power the burner in the combustion chamber of the reactor of the used motor oil distillation plant and the company’s fleet of machinery and lorries equipped with a mixed hydrogen injection engine.

The declaration is made on condition that the project is subject to environmental or integrated assessment in all aspects required by environmental regulations, and its effectiveness is delayed until this assessment is favourable. The project will have to incorporate any conditions imposed by the environmental assessment.

Similarly, the execution project will have to incorporate the conditions indicated by the Lloseta Town Council and the Consell de Mallorca in everything that does not contradict the pronouncements of the environmental body.

It should be noted that the Industry Council of the Balearic Islands has issued a favourable report on this project.
