The councillor of Presidency, Antoni Fuster, and the insular director of Families, María Garrido, have met with representatives of 36 municipalities of Mallorca to explain the programs and strategies to be carried out in the area of families, specifically the project against gender violence “No i punt 2024-2027”.
This meeting aims to establish a transversal work between the Consell de Mallorca and the municipal level to realize the actions that are underway in this area. In this way, the tools necessary for the implementation of the actions contemplated in this program and the policies that will be carried out in the Department of Families are made available to the municipalities.
The “No i punt!” campaign was implemented in 20 municipalities last year, a figure that has increased during 2023 and has reached 42. The challenge pursued is to have a presence “in all municipalities by the end of this legislature,” said Fuster.
The insular director stressed the importance of “dynamic channels of communication and collaboration” to help victims of sexist aggression in as many places as possible.
Fuster stated that it is “vital that the firm commitment that the Consell de Mallorca has in family, equality and diversity policies is expanded in all possible spaces”.
