Approval of the contracting of IBDONA’s 24-hour telephone

The Consell de Govern authorizes the director of the Balearic Institute of Women (IBDONA) to allocate the expenditure corresponding to the contracting of the 24-hour specialized service for victims of male violence for the years 2024, 2025 and 2026.

According to the agreement, the maximum amount will be 1,751,946.80 euros, plus 175,194.68 euros for VAT (10%); that is, a total of 1,927,141.48 euros.

The aim of the 24-hour specialized care service for victims of male violence is, among others, to offer specialized care to the victims (women and their children) and their environment; to provide information and specialized advice on male violence to the general public; and to offer information and specialized advice to professionals in male violence who request it.

The specialized attention will be provided through two services: the specialized telephone assistance and support service, active 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and the specialized face-to-face support service, which must be offered in the terms and hours specified in the technical specifications.

During the first nine months of 2023, the 24-hour service handled 3,630 calls. In this same period, from January to September, a total of 445 women have received face-to-face accompaniment.
