This is the highest level in the series and one of the best performances for a January-November period. Compared with October, the increase is 10,350 members.

The average enrollment figure was 20,806,074, the highest in the original series for November. In the daily series, enrollment remained above 20.8 million workers continuously between November 15 and 29. Compared to October, 11,583 fewer have been recorded, a much smaller decline than that marked in that month between 2016 and 2019 (-36,000 on average). The year-on-year change in enrollment was 2.6%, with 522,443 more people than a year ago.

Average female enrollment remains at record highs, with more than 9.8 million contributors. This figure represents 47.2% of all workers and continues at an all-time high.

“The labor market shows a remarkable dynamism throughout 2023, with a new increase in employment in November. The good performance of Social Security enrollment among women stands out,” said the Minister for Social Security, Inclusion and Migration, Elma Saiz. “Thanks to the labor reform, Spain is intensely improving the quality and stability of jobs, with a strong reduction in temporary employment – especially among young people – and a good performance in high value-added activities,” she added.

Higher employment growth than other major economies
Compared to the pre-pandemic level (December 2019), enrollment has grown by almost 1.4 million people in seasonally adjusted terms. Since February 2020, 7 out of 10 new jobs have been in the private sector.

Moreover, compared to the pre-pandemic level, job creation in Spain (+7.2%) exceeds that of the major European countries (France, +5%; Germany, +1.4%). The increase in employment is also higher than in these countries since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, during which period it has grown by 5.3% in Spain, while in France and Germany it has grown by less than 2%.
