The first files of the line of the Plan for the Restructuring of Nuts have also been resolved, with an amount of more than 620,000 euros.
The Agricultural and Fisheries Guarantee Fund of the Balearic Islands (FOGAIBA), an agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, has paid the second advance payment of aid from the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023. In total, it is 1,130,992.42 euros. The payment refers to the basic aid lines of the sustainability income (formerly basic payment) and the redistributive supplementary aid (small and medium farms). According to the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, Joan Simonet, “We plan to make another payment in December, this already balance, to continue providing liquidity to farms. We also reaffirm our commitment that next year this advance can be advanced even further and start paying it in mid-October”.

The highest item is the basic aid of the sustainability income (926,953.49 euros) while 204,038.93 euros are destined for the complementary redistributive aid. In detail, there are 510 beneficiaries: 430 from Mallorca, who will receive in this second advance payment a total of 861,222.81 euros; 29 from Ibiza, with a total of 23,335.14 euros; 48 from Menorca, with a total of 238,592.59 euros and 3 from the mainland, with a total of 7,841.88 euros.
It should be remembered that the ordinary payment period begins on December 1, 2023, and ends on June 30, 2024, but Community regulations allow from October 16 until November 30 to make advance payments to provide liquidity to farms. In addition, this CAP 2023 campaign has resulted in an increase in funding of 35.1% concerning the CAP 2022, since, for the first time, it includes compensation for the additional costs of insularity that the primary sector bears. If last year’s campaign aid amounting to 27,359,254.65 euros was processed, in 2023 the amount amounts -provisionally-, to 36,949,814.24 euros, more than new million more (9,590,559.59 euros) than in 2022.
