The Ministry of Education and Universities is launching a new training initiative aimed at student ambassadors for coexistence across schools in the Balearic Islands, reinforcing their role in conflict mediation and peer support. Starting on 4 May, this programme forms part of a broader strategy to prevent bullying and enhance wellbeing within educational environments.
The training sessions will consist of interactive workshops conducted in small groups, focusing on emotional awareness, trust-building and teamwork. Using dedicated educational resources, participants will gain practical skills to assist in peer mediation processes and to lead initiatives that promote a positive school climate.

Education strengthens student mediator training in conflict resolution and school coexistence in the Balearic Islands
This approach strengthens the role of students as proactive agents in prevention, working alongside teachers, counsellors and specialised staff. Schools in the Balearic Islands benefit from an established support framework that includes educational psychologists, whose introduction in secondary education since the 2024–2025 academic year has significantly improved emotional support and early detection of vulnerability.
At the same time, the regional education system continues to expand its human resources dedicated to student wellbeing and diversity support. The presence of these professionals enhances coordination within schools and reinforces both preventive measures and intervention capacity in potential bullying cases.
In addition, the Convivèxit programme plays a key role in managing school bullying, providing ongoing guidance, case monitoring and support to the educational community. Its methodology prioritises early protocol activation and preventive action, contributing to a reduction in confirmed cases despite an increase in reported incidents.
Through these measures, the Ministry reaffirms its commitment to eliminating school bullying and ensuring that schools in the Balearic Islands remain safe, inclusive and supportive environments for all students.
