Construction of 35 housing units in Es Castell

The contract, published on the Public Sector Procurement Platform, has been put out to tender for a base amount of 7,457,408.64 euros, including taxes. The execution period is 20 months. Interested companies may submit bids until 30 January 2023, at 14:00.

The award criteria that will be assessed, in addition to the financial offer, also include other aspects such as the extension of the guarantee period for the work; the commitment to increase the percentage of waste recycling above that indicated in the project specifications; the commitment to make a contribution to projects of social interest linked to the object of the contract; as well as experience in energy-efficient construction or construction with materials with a low carbon footprint, among others.

The development of 35 social housing units in Es Castell was one of the three developments, along with the 60 social housing units in Isidor Macabich in Ibiza and the 17 social housing units in Sant Ferran, Formentera, for which more than 125 proposals competed in the latest IBAVI ideas competition for architectural projects, which had the prestigious British architect Stephen Bates (Sergison – Bates Architects) as a member of the jury.

In this case, the winner of the development of 35 housing units in Es Castell was the project “Esclat des Clot”, by Oriol Valls Guinovart and Izaskun González Barredo.

The Es Castell development is one of the five public housing developments that the Department of Mobility and Housing will finance in Menorca through the 2023 budgets of the IBAVI, along with the 14 HPPs in Maó on Roca y Vinent street, the 9 HPPs in Es Migjorn, the 11 HPPs in Sant Lluís and the 35 HPPs in Alaior. In total, the planned investment amounts to 11,432,954 euros.
