The Consell de Govern has authorised the Vice-Presidency of the Government and the Ministry of Energy Transition, Productive Sectors and Democratic Memory, through the Directorate General for Trade, to make available an investment of 2,500,000 euros to finance the call for applications for aid aimed at promoting the modernisation of retail commercial companies and certain service companies, as well as the continuity of certain services considered emblematic.

This year, the Directorate General for Trade has increased by 13.64% of the budget allocated to this subsidy, which in 2022 was endowed with an investment of 1.2 million euros and benefited 329 local businesses in the Balearic Islands.

Through this line of aid, small commercial businesses on the Islands will be able to carry out investments for technological and digital improvement, aimed at promoting e-commerce in face-to-face sales establishments; investments that involve a move towards a low-carbon economy, improved energy efficiency and sustainability; investments to improve accessibility and eliminate architectural barriers and for the acquisition and installation of the equipment necessary for the improvement and modernisation of the establishment, as well as works and reforms in general that involve the improvement and modernisation of trade.

The aid per beneficiary will be a maximum of 9,000 euros or up to 80 % of the total investment made.

The subsidies included in this call are included in the Strategic Subsidy Plan of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands for the years 2021-2023.
