97 pregnant women received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Wednesday in response to the call made by Salut to all pregnant women who had not yet been inoculated. The call for vaccination of this group, who can go without an appointment to the established vaccination centres, is open from Wednesday until Tuesday 10 August, between 16:00 and 19:00.

The vaccination points are as follows: In Mallorca, Son Dureta (Palma), Polideportivo Mateu Cañellas in Inca and Hipódromo de Manacor; in Menorca, Recinto Ferial de Menorca (Maó), Canal Salat (Ciutadella); in Eivissa, Recinto Ferial de Eivissa; and in Formentera, Hospital de Formentera.

The vaccination strategy of the Ministry of Health recommends vaccination against Covid-19 to pregnant women as it can prevent complications during pregnancy. Moreover, there is no contraindication for vaccination against Covid-19 in any of the trimesters of pregnancy. On the other hand, as reported by Salut, it is important that both pregnant women and those living with them reinforce preventive measures against Covid-19, such as limiting the number of contacts as much as possible, wearing a mask, washing hands frequently, ventilating spaces, maintaining interpersonal distance and avoiding crowds.
