The Inca Town Council has installed 6 drinking water fountains in different areas of the municipality with the highest number of people. This action has been made possible thanks to the first participatory budget campaign promoted by the council of the capital of Raiguer. The project “Inca, Ciudad Saludable” (Inca, Healthy City) received the most votes from citizens with more than 2,500 points.

Inca installs the water fountains

The drinking water fountains are specially designed for throwing bottles, although they also have a separate arm for direct drinking. They also incorporate another water outlet for animals. In addition, the fountains are wheelchair accessible.

“With the installation of public water fountains we want to provide an additional service to citizens and visitors, but above all to raise awareness of the environmental impact of the consumption of bottled water,” explains Mayor Virgilio Moreno.

Thus, this initiative aims to offer water to pedestrians and, at the same time, to promote the use of reusable bottles to encourage the reduction of disposable containers. The new water fountains have been installed in the Plaça del Ganat, in the Parc de les Illes Balears, in the Plaça del Blanquer, in the Plaça dels Pobladors, in the Parc Europa and in Carrer Mahón.
