The Balearic Energy Institute (IBE) is developing three installations in Cala Rajada, El Pil-larí and La Ribera.
Each participant who wants to join the self-consumption will be assigned a power between 1 kW and 2 kW.
The Regional Ministry of Enterprise, Employment and Energy, through the Balearic Energy Institute (IBE), has launched a public call for participation in three shared self-consumption installations in Cala Rajada, El Pil-larí and La Ribera in Palma.
The IBE is developing three solar photovoltaic installations for shared self-consumption that will be located: in the public housing (VPP) on Calle Pizarro in Cala Rajada, with a power of 10 kW; in the IBAVI public housing buildings in El Pil-larí, both with a combined power of 90 kW; and finally, in La Ribera, Palma, with 20 kW.

The beneficiaries, individuals and companies located within a radius of 2 km of the self-consumption installations will be able to consume energy directly, without cables, building work or maintenance, paying a small annual fee according to the power requested. Each participant who wishes to join the self-consumption system will be assigned a power of 1 kW in the case of dwellings, and 2 kW in the case of economic activities. In addition, the participation fee for each kW of the installation is set at 100 euros.
The attribution of the subscription fees for the shared self-consumption installation gives the right to participate in its electricity production for a period of twelve months, which can be automatically extended up to four years from the start-up of the installation.
As for the power corresponding to premises with economic activity, it will be a maximum of 30 kW in the case of El Pil-larí; 4 kW in Capdepera, and 6 kW in La Ribera.
Shared self-consumption allows people or companies that do not have the space in their homes to have their installation to contribute to the energy transition through the use of this energy consumption model. In addition, it facilitates access to those people who are renting without having to invest, with the worry of knowing how long they will live in that home.
Participants can submit their application through the website of the Balearic Energy Institute (IBE) www.institutbalearenergia.com, in person at any office for the energy transition (OTE) or through the Itinerant Office, which will travel to the municipalities in question until 18 October at 11.59 pm.
