Eivissa presents to OTAs and tour operators its intention to grow in family tourism, consolidate the month of April and grow in March
During these days of the World Travel Market fair, Eivissa has intensified its calendar of meetings to tell OTAs (direct sales companies of hotels and holiday packages online), tour operators and travel agents from the United Kingdom about the good figures for the family tourism sector, which represent a total of 25% of British visitors to Ibiza in 2024, and its good acceptance, with repeat rates of more than 60%. Furthermore, according to data from some OTAs, the United Kingdom is the main issuer of family tourism in Ibiza, representing 33% of family package bookings made on the island, followed by Germany, France and the United States.

Eivissa is committed to family tourism: longer stays, more spending per capita and greater diversity
According to data from the Eivissa Tourism Intelligence System, which have been contrasted in the meetings held these days, the average stay of families is almost two days longer than the general average (from 3.7 to 5.1 days) and the average expenditure, according to data from travel agents, exceeds 450 dollars per day per person.
In this sense, the Consell de Eivissa has highlighted the value of the recently created ‘Ibiza Family Moments’ seal, which will serve to structure and position the range of accommodation, restaurants, leisure and public services specialised and oriented towards the family tourism segment in the different markets.
About the depersonalization, the president of the Consell de Eivissa and head of the Department of Tourism Promotion, Vicent Marí, confirmed that it is already a fact that the season ‘is not 4 or 5 months, but 7’ and explained that, as was the case next year, many hotels and international flights will begin to work in the last week of March.
In fact, although most sales of vocational packages take place from April onwards, it can already be seen how the last week of March Ibiza’s air connections with the United Kingdom increased sixfold, going from a single daily connection with London, which operates all year round with British Airways, to several direct connections with London, Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham.
For all these reasons, the president explained that ‘a seven-month season is consolidated on the island of Eivissa, and progress continues to be made in deseasonalisation’, something which, according to the president ‘means more job stability, better salaries, greater productivity and less pressure in the strong months of the season, driven by those who prefer to visit Eivissa in mid-season, when the weather allows them to enjoy the whole island at a much lower price’.
The opening of the tourism season with the UK will culminate in April when Eivissa will have 11 direct connections with the country, where, in addition to the previous six, Liverpool, Newcastle upon Tyne, Glasgow, Nottingham and Belfast will be added. ‘In this sense, other operators begin to operate during the fourth month of the year, such as Jet2, which has explained that the momentum of the sporting events has been decisive to advance its season at the beginning of this month,’ said the president.
In terms of tourist establishments, the month of March will end on the island of Eivissa with 76 hotels, hostels and apart-hotels open, to which must be added the holiday rental offer. In the case of hotel establishments, the average price in the last week of March and the first week of April is 152.48 euros per night. In 2024, a total of 55 establishments were open in Ibiza in the last week of March, almost 30% more, although Easter does not coincide.
