The Councillor for Social Welfare of the Consell de Mallorca and President of IMAS, Guillermo Sánchez, together with the Mayor of Lloseta, Angelina Pérez, inaugurated the conference and stressed the importance of coordination between all social agents to promote safe environments that encourage participation, listening and respect for children and adolescents: The violence and lack of protection of the most vulnerable people, such as children and adolescents, affects us all,’ she said.

The councillor for Social Welfare of the Consell de Mallorca and president of IMAS, Guillermo Sánchez, together with the mayoress of Lloseta, Angelina Pérez, inaugurated the conference and stressed the importance of coordination between all social agents to promote safe environments that encourage participation, listening and respect for children and adolescents: ‘Violence and lack of protection of the most vulnerable people, such as children and adolescents, affects us all as a society. Only through collaboration between all the administrations and local agents can we effectively address the needs of citizens and prevent situations of risk’ he stressed that “these conferences offer us the opportunity to share experiences and knowledge and to advance in our common commitment to build a fairer and safer society for children and adolescents”.
In this sense, the councillor recalled the joint work that IMAS and UNICEF carry out in promoting policies to guarantee the rights of children and adolescents and to encourage their active participation in society. Specifically, Sánchez highlighted ‘UNICEF’s experience and global vision, always with the youngest children. Their collaboration is a fundamental pillar for IMAS and allows us to implement programmes and policies that put people at the centre, an essential value for the current government team of the Consell de Mallorca.
