Raixa celebrates Christmas with two choral concerts by the Youth Choir of the Teatre Principal and the Marratxí Youth Symphony Orchestra

The highlights of the programme, which will last until the 4th of January, are the two free Christmas concerts to be held at the emblematic estate, by the Youth Choir of the Teatro Principal and the Marratxí Youth Symphony Orchestra, scheduled for the 14th of December and the 4th of January. Christmas-themed workshops have also been organised.

The second vice-president and councillor for the Environment, Rural Affairs and Sports, Pedro Bestard, and the island’s director of the Environment, Luis Rubí, presented the Christmas programme and encouraged the public to enjoy these activities ‘that take us back to these magical dates’.

‘We have prepared these activities in Raixa so that they can be shared with family, friends or loved ones, and I encourage everyone to attend the two concerts planned to enjoy traditional Christmas carols and classical music, whose traditional melodies will take us back to fond memories, in an incomparable setting such as the Raixa estate’, said the councillor for the Environment.

Christmas carols and New Year’s Eve concerts

The calendar of activities is completed with two Christmas concerts that will take place in the Raixa courtyard. On Saturday 14th, from 12.30 p.m. onwards, the Christmas carols concert will be performed by the Youth Choir of the Teatro Principal, with free admission until full capacity is reached. The choir will offer a sample of its traditional Christmas repertoire.

Likewise, on the 4th of January, also at 12:30 p.m., we will be able to enjoy another of the outstanding events: the New Year’s Concert by the Marratxí Youth Symphony Orchestra.

In addition, on Saturday 21st December there will be a workshop to create floral centrepieces, with the Raixa gardens serving as inspiration for their creation.

The Raixa public estate forms part of the European Network of Historic Gardens and all these events are organised to celebrate Christmas, along with 43 other gardens in the European Union that form part of it.
