The deadline to apply for grants for the training of researchers and the incorporation of research staff is now open

The Government of the Balearic Islands allocates nearly 7 million euros to these two lines of aid, through which a total of 56 employment contracts are offered, in the modalities of pre-doctoral and post-doctoral contracts for young researchers and experienced researchers, aimed at centres or units of research and technological development, as well as companies.

The call for grants to incorporate research personnel into the science, technology and innovation ecosystem of the Balearic Islands (postdoctoral contracts 2024) has a budget of 3,317,700.00 euros and the Directorate General for Universities, Research and Higher Artistic Education offers a total of 30 postdoctoral contracts on a competitive basis. The objective is to incorporate doctoral research personnel into the ECTIB actors: research and technological development centres or units, non-profit public companies and private companies with R&D activities located in the Balearic Islands.

The call for grants for the training of research personnel (FPI) and the training of business research personnel (FPI-E) has a budget of 3,593,131.88 euros and will allow for 26 pre-doctoral contracts in research and technological development centres or units and companies. Public R&D centres, public and private non-profit R&D centres, technology centres and technological innovation support centres, as well as private R&D and/or innovation companies, are eligible for these grants. The budget earmarked for this call for applications is 28% higher than the previous call for applications, and forms part of the plan to dignify the start of academic and research careers promoted by the Regional Ministry of Education and Universities, to improve the pay and working conditions of new researchers. In this way, the competitiveness of the ECTIB centres is fostered and the incorporation of talent into the productive fabric is promoted to increase its competitiveness.

Those interested in applying for these grants have until 12 February to submit their application through the electronic headquarters.
