The Fundació Bit presents the awards of the second edition of the ‘Tecnosoluciones de Proximidad’ contest

The vice-president of the Fundació Bit, Sebastián González, and the mayoress of Alcúdia, Fina Linares, presented the prize to the school with the best average (8.93), the IES Moll Viejo (Port d’Alcúdia), which consists of a 300 € voucher to buy technological material for the school.

The Fundació Bit has awarded the individual prizes of the second edition of the competition to the 10 best participants of this edition aimed at students from 1st to 4th ESO of the Balearic Islands.

The vice-president of the Bit Foundation and general director of Innovation and Digital Transformation, Sebastián González, and the mayor of Alcúdia, Fina Linares, today handed out the prizes for the second edition of the ‘Tecnosolucions de proximitat’ competition, which is part of the educational project linked to the travelling exhibition ‘Women who changed the world’ and ‘Women who change the world’, which aims to encourage STEM vocations and give visibility to women scientists and technologists of the Balearic Islands.

The Fundació Bit presents the awards of the second edition of the ‘Tecnosoluciones de Proximidad’ contest

This second edition, aimed at students from the schools that have received the travelling exhibition and those that have visited it virtually, has had the participation of 84 students in the 2nd ESO. The participants answered questions related to the exhibition, both closed and open-ended, focused on analysing and proposing technological solutions to problems close to them. The jury of the Fundació Bit, formed by the Digital Society team, selected 10 winners following the criteria of appropriateness, relevance, depth of analysis and originality of the participants.

In addition, IES Moll Vell, in Port d’Alcúdia, has been recognised as the school with the best average (8.93) and has been awarded a voucher worth 300 euros for the purchase of technological material. The award ceremony was attended by the mayoress of Alcúdia and the vice-president of the Fundació Bit, who also presented the award personally to each of the students. Also, representatives of the Digital Society area of the Fundació Bit have participated in the different simultaneous acts of delivery in the centres.

The Fundació Bit congratulates all participants and winners for their involvement and effort. This initiative, organised in collaboration with the Association of Science and Technology Parks of Spain (APTE), continues to work to inspire new generations and promote STEM vocations.
