During the meeting, several issues of interest to the island were discussed, such as the improvement of funding for the dependency network by 2025, as well as the increase in the Home Care Service (SAD), which has increased the price per hour by 18%.
Members of the Department of Social Welfare team, such as the island director of Elderly People, Dependency and Functional Diversity, Melissa Manota attended the meeting. The Balearic Government was represented by the General Directors of Dependency Care, María Castro, and Social Affairs, Pep Falcó, and the manager of the Consortium of Social, Health and Care Resources, Alejandro Mora.
The meeting analysed important issues for Menorca, such as the Cuartel de Santiago residence, with the incorporation of 120 places for people diagnosed with dependency. Also discussed was the forthcoming opening of the Sant Lluís residence, with the corresponding expansion of 21 rooms and 24 places available.
