The Government takes the first steps to begin drafting the new Science, Technology and Innovation Plan
The CICIT is the collegiate body that coordinates the ministries of the Government of the Balearic Islands in matters of science, technology and innovation, to identify the needs in these areas and align them with the current Science, Technology and Innovation Plan. For its part, the Advisory Council is the consultative and participatory body for the scientific community and economic and social agents in matters related to science, technology and innovation.
It should be noted that the new composition of the Advisory Council has increased the representation of the scientific community, with 10 scientists of recognised prestige in different fields. The composition is completed by the economic and social agents, whose representatives must also be related to science, technology and innovation.
The Science, Technology and Innovation Plan of the Balearic Islands is the instrument for achieving the objectives established in Law 7/2022 on Science, Technology and Innovation of the Balearic Islands, establishing the Government’s research, development and innovation programmes, financing actions in these areas, to transform the knowledge derived from research activity into economic or social value.
